What should you bring to your first lesson?

The first lesson is my chance to learn more about you and for you to learn more about me. This way, we can establish what your goals are and what the best way to structure your lessons to achieve those goals.
Students should come with their instrument (unless rental arrangements have been made prior to the first lesson), picks (finger picks if taking banjo or a flat pick if taking mandolin or guitar), a pen and paper if you wish to take notes, and a tuner.

If you are renting an instrument from me, bring a filled-out and signed copy of the rental agreement

Lesson Pricing

My recommendation is that students take lessons weekly to see the greatest results and to build their skills as quickly as possible. After the first lesson, students are required to pay monthly, with payment due on the first lesson of the month. If you start partway through the month, after the first lesson, students will pay for the remainder of the month and then start paying for the full month at the beginning of the next month. Note: I do not accept lesson by lesson payments. One month is required for enrollment.

What Is Included?

  1. A regular slot set aside for your lesson

  2. Instruction that teaches from tablatures (and notation by special request), chord charts, and by ear.

  3. Top tier instruction tailored to each student’s style of learning

  4. Accountability to practice and continue making progress

  5. Music arranged for students’ level

While monthly payments do not start with the first lesson, students are still required to pay for their first lesson. Tuition is due on the first lesson of each month.

I accept cash, check, and Venmo

Student is not required to pay the full month to enroll. Once the student contract has been signed, the student may pay month to month

Frequently Asked Questions

Cancellations

In the event that a student must reschedule, at least 24 hours notice is needed. There is no guarantee of a reschedule the week of the lesson. If there is not ample notice, the student is expected to pay for that lesson. If I have to cancel a lesson the time will be credited towards another lesson.
